Salvage ships could have many drones that help dismantal a ship also. Maybe using a snap-grid (and only possible using the salvage ship) you have a holo-gram grid where you can align the large ship pieces so they can be rejoined. But this could be take a lot of fuel and it takes time to reach orbit- but is much quicker than just dismantalling a ship and making a new one. This could also double for being able to attach itself to a large section(s) of a CV ship and take it to orbit where you could repair it/re-build it. Using their gps coords.Īs for salvaging, i would love to see a ship designed for salvaging. Which one is the fleeing player in? Also these escape pods could be manually sent down to a planet on auto-pilot with supplies if you want to send something to a friendly player planetside. And in MP maybe if you have several escape pods- some will be unmanned and empty and will eject at the same time. Of course you could jump into anyone of your smaller ships onboard, but escape pods could be for those who havent got anything else. I presume CV ships can only be constructed in space at the moment? What if the limitation is mass, so if you build a smaller CV than a large one it will be possible to land it.Īlso as others have asked for, I would like to see crashing and physics based destruction when a ship crashes (like they have in SE) but it would be cool also if you could create escape pods of your own design that you can quickly evacuate a ship in the event of being attacked or pulled into a planets gravity. I do know the map is extremely limited and cruiser sized ships won't fit. Not unless the character is less than 2m high :S. I was just thinking about the size of ships I expect people to make and those are the block based ship building games I know. Starmade does have planets, they are really small but "in the world" rather than strange voodoo instance things, you can land a ship larger than a planet on top of a planet, but that wasn't my point. There is a mostly flat space here over 1km wide that looks like it should fit more than 500 blocks in a line. There is a different set of mountains on the other side, about another 500-600m away. The blocks are what, 2m cubes? From the pond near the starting point I see a mountain like 600m away with a neodynium deposit at it's base. Wait what? It looks like I can put a lot more than 400 blocks in these areas. To give you an idea, if you place 400 blocks down in a straight line, you will meet your blocks again before you get to the 400th block. Leewells2000 a écrit :SE Doesn't have planets yet, and SM I'm not sure about, do they have planets? Planets are the limiting factors here as the map is completely diffrent from space - for instance, a 400 block long ship just won't fit on a planet's surface. Planets are the limiting factors here as the map is completely diffrent from space - for instance, a 400 block long ship just won't fit on a planet's surface. I have seen some massive ships in like Starmade and SE, that people spent weeks making, and most of them would fit in the little survival starting valley we have in this game. "Realistically" sized ships, like the sizes most people will actually put the effort into creating, should be fine for take off and landing. IE I doubt the engine can handle ships on the scale we are talking about. Well sure, that sort of limitation is fine, and honestly likely already exists naturally. That's game breaking and a no-no which is why kane said if they do allow CV's to land, they must restrict the size of that CV (notwithstanding, the limitation of the ship must be smaller than the liner surface of the cyldrical map). A ship the size of a contenant taking off into orbit is enough to push the planet out of orbit.
